How it works in practice
A €65,000 renovation, step by step
Ana is renovating her flat in Madrid. Miguel is the contractor. They met three weeks ago.
They sign the contract on PactStream
They define scope and schedule: a €19,500 advance and five milestones of €9,100. The conditions of each milestone are written down — what must be done for the payment to be released.
Ana deposits the advance
The €19,500 leaves her account, but never reaches Miguel's: it goes to the segregated account. And since it is Milestone 0, it is covered by the surety bond.
Miguel starts the work
Demolition and installations. When the first milestone is done, he uploads eight geolocated photos from his phone, on site.
AI analyses the evidence
Forty seconds. Compliance score: 91 out of 100. Four findings in green, one in amber — the electrical installation appears partially covered in two photos.
The architect reviews and validates

Where does my money go?
To a segregated bank account, managed by an authorised payment provider under PSD2 regulation. It is not your account. It is not the builder's. And it is not PactStream's: we never hold funds at any point.
Who can take it out?
No one on their own. The money is released only when the contract conditions are met: evidence uploaded from the site, AI verification, and validation by the surveyor and the client. If one step is missing, the payment does not move.
What if we disagree?
The system keeps the geolocated, timestamped evidence, the full AI report and the history of every decision. In a dispute there is no "your word against mine": there is a file any surveyor, lawyer or judge can review.
